What’s Up? – Love is in the Air…
Love is in the Air…
I’m starting to see a bit more variety of bird species in my backyard. Some of them show up when I don’t have my camera handy. Some others get a bit more interested to stop for longer time in order to get an easy meal.
We are having more sunny days now and the weather temperature has risen to a moderate level. My grass lawns are getting green, I can see more flowers now and a great part of trees are showing many new leaves. Green is the popular color all around.
- I had the opportunity to photograph a young couple of Red-winged Blackbirds. It was a while that I didn’t see a female RWB in my backyard. They are a healthy and good looking couple. The male was very vocal, I guess he was protective of his mate.
- I saw “Nutcase” the squirrel and…he had company! Can you believe that! No wonder the feeders get empty so quickly!

- I was so happy to see a young Blue Grosbeak in my backyard again! It’s been years since I saw one previously. He was very interested to get access to the feeders and also full of confidence to approach them with other birds around him. He got along well with the local crew. I just hope that he stays or returns soon.

I have so many types who nest here with warmth finally they were signing their praises as well.
The birds are like “flying flowers” that enhance our gardens. Thank you! 🙂
Lovely shots HJ, loved the pics of the young Gosbeak!
Thank you very much Ashley! 🙂
The birds look really nice.
Thank you very much! 🙂
You are welcome!
I’m so glad the weather is finally warming up for us as well! It’s been really volatile, and I feel like the wild life has been confused, being able to come out one day and not the next. Lovely photographs!
Yes, I’m very glad is warming up, I was kind of frustrated with the never ending cold. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
That young Gosbeak has very striking plumage. Glad your weather is warming up at last.
Yes, the Grosbeak is going to be a handsome bird when adult. I’m happy with the warmer days. Thank you Susan. 🙂
I also love the grosbeak, H.J. Soon the speckling will be replaced with a homogenous, gorgeous garment.
Thank you!… You are correct Tanja, it will turn into a beautiful plumage! 🙂
A variety of birds and adorable squirrels!
Thank you Indira! 🙂
It must be spring if love is in the air.
You’re right Tom! 🙂
Great variety you are attracting to your backyard, HJ!
I’m still waiting for many more. Thank you Chris! 🙂
I love the coloring of the female Red-winged Blackbird, she is a beauty. So nice to see your young Blue Grosbeak visiting, how awesome. And yes, even Nutcase has a girlfriend. 🙂
I’m worry that Nutcase might have babies and drive me to bankruptcy!
Thank you Donna! 🙂
Maybe you might want to adopt them, No? 🙂
LOL I am laughing so hard! 🙂
