What’s Up? – Love is in the Air…

Love is in the Air…

I’m starting to see a bit more variety of bird species in my backyard. Some of them show up when I don’t have my camera handy. Some others get a bit more interested to stop for longer time in order to get an easy meal.

We are having more sunny days now and the weather temperature has risen to a moderate level. My grass lawns are getting green, I can see more flowers now and a great part of trees are showing many new leaves. Green is the popular color all around.

  • I had the opportunity to photograph a young couple of Red-winged Blackbirds. It was a while that I didn’t see a female RWB in my backyard. They are a healthy and good looking couple. The male was very vocal, I guess he was protective of his mate.
  •  I saw “Nutcase” the squirrel and…he had company! Can you believe that! No wonder the feeders get empty so quickly!
  • I was so happy to see a young Blue Grosbeak in my backyard again! It’s been years since I saw one previously. He was very interested to get access to the feeders and also full of confidence to approach them with other birds around him. He got along well with the local crew. I just hope that he stays or returns soon.

  1. I’m so glad the weather is finally warming up for us as well! It’s been really volatile, and I feel like the wild life has been confused, being able to come out one day and not the next. Lovely photographs!

    • Yes, I’m very glad is warming up, I was kind of frustrated with the never ending cold. Thank you for sharing! 🙂

    • Yes, the Grosbeak is going to be a handsome bird when adult. I’m happy with the warmer days. Thank you Susan. 🙂
