The snow we had a couple of days ago is almost gone by now, we have sunshine again! :).

Despite the bothersome snowfall ( Especially for people that commute to work or spend more time on the road) for me it was a bit different, I do my work from home with my computer. Even when the snow was falling and after it stopped, gave me a good chance to shoot some good photos. I can’t complain about it.

Today’s gallery have some of these shots mentioned above. Tell what do you think?

Hey! Guess what? Yesterday the area where I live got approximately 4 to 5 inches of snow! We rarely get any snow at all and you can imagine how surprised we were to see accumulations. Today is so beautiful since we have sunshine and blue skies. I had a good time yesterday observing the birds and taking pictures also. I’m posting some of them now.

My list of birds I saw yesterday is as follows:

  • Eastern Towhees. Male and female.
  • Northern cardinals. Male and female.
  • Field Sparrows.
  • Cooper’s Hawk.
  • Song Sparrows.
  • Mourning Doves.
  • Carolina Chickadees.
  • Red-headed Woodpecker.

Yesterday we had a fairly light gray day, good for shooting without harsh shadows. Also I got some beautiful visitors that I could get some shots others I saw them but I didn’t have a chance to photograph. My list of birds that I saw yesterday is as follows:

  1. Cooper’s Hawk, I saw this bird gliding over the feeders and then stood on a small Live Oak but as soon I got my camera he flew away.
  2. Many Mourning Doves eating on the ground, there’s a lot of seed that fell because of the high winds we had.
  3. Lots of Field Sparrows, all these are regulars rain or shine! 🙂
  4. Northern Cardinals, males and females.
  5. Song Sparrows running around even going to the feeders. Usually they eat on the ground.
  6. A couple of House finches, didn’t stay long.
  7. One magnificent Red-headed woodpecker.
  8. Some Carolina Chickadees, I saw one checking one of the bird houses.
  9. I saw a couple of Eastern Towhees, male and female.
  10. I believe I saw an American Goldfinch but just flew by and left. I had no time to turn on my camera and was gone!

It was a good day considering the amount of birds that visited my backyard!

Hi there friends!

The weather have been harsh lately ( I don’t want to mention politics that’s even worse!) .

It’s been tough for the birds that usually visit my feeders during Winter. The gusts of wind were strong and blew the seed away, knocked the covers off and it really was messy. However the last couple of days have been sunny and bright still cold but not so glum. I took some shots and I’m posting them today! I can’t wait to be Spring again and resume my photo outdoor shootings.

Thanks a lot to the kind people that visit my blog, it’s all about the birds!
