Wildlife of the Caribbean
Pocket Guide by Herbert A. Raffaele and James W. Wiley
“This guide, with 600 pictures in rich colors describes in clear language 451 species of Terrestrial life as well as Marine life that can be found on the Islands of the Caribbean.
Plants, Mammals, Birds, Reptiles, Amphibians, Marine Mammals, Mollusks, Fish and more.
Each species has a description easy to comprehend and smartly written for a pocket guide. The authors also included a great deal of pertinent information that would make ID of a species very simple and quite speedy. Along with the descriptions is a number of pages with information about important subjects such as the Islands, Biogeography, Geography, Climate, Habitats, etc.
As per my own experience I’ve been to various Caribbean Islands where a pocket guide like this one would have helped me very much when I needed it!”

The beach in Florida wasn’t as sunny as anyone would have wanted during the time I was on my vacation. The weather temperature fluctuated between cold and warm. There were foggy mornings that did not help my photography of birds. Luckily for me I’m a resourceful photographer and shot my way through the fog fiddling with the camera settings and being persistent about positions of the sun behind the fog. I never gave up on it! There were times that the fog was so dense I couldn’t see my feet.
I had several people strolling the beach asking me about how can I shoot pictures in that kind of weather conditions and they shook their head. Well, I will be posting some of those pictures and you’ll be the judge. It would also be ok if you honestly tell me I was wasting my time.
