Your comment gives me an opportunity to report that this season my Cardinal bunch of families nesting in my backyard has increased by 50% in numbers and I suspect that they have had a double brood, kind of “A Summer of Love”. My seed consumption have tripled because I am feeding not only birds, also squirrels and a fat groundhog. However, my lawns, plants, shrubs, flowers are at optimum condition. The heat-rain combination is working wonders!
I hope it’s the same for you there, Linda. Take care dear… 🙂
These photos are from previous winter season. Right now while I reply your comment is:
Today: Saturday
Thunderstorms: 15%
Precipitation: 15% Rain
Temp: 91° F
Have a Happy Red Saturday! 🙂
The cardinals hang out around the edges of our property in the summer, only visiting the birdbaths every now and then. I look forward to their settling in for fall and winter here, when they add such zip and color to the snowy landscape.
Cheers,
Julie
At last my young ‘uns have come out of the shrubbery and are at the feeders. They may well belong to a second brood, but they sure are fun to watch.

If I only could keep the squirrels from raiding the refrigerator for their shelled pecans…! (It’s not that bad yet, but give them time.)
That mauve hue is a wonderful background for the cardinal. Beautifully different HJ!
These photos are from my files from previous winter. The colors are different in cold weather. Thank you, Chris. 🙂
Reblogged this on THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON….
Muito obrigado, Anisio. 🙂
Gorgeous, HJ! ❤
Thanks so much, Donna. Have a happy Red Saturday. 🙂

They are my permanent resident of my backyard so I’m proud to see them all year round. Thank you, Julie. 🙂
