What’s Up? – Couples and Misc…
Couples and Misc…
Our weather has improved considerably! Now, the spring season is very evident and it makes me happy indeed. We had treated the lawns to rid of weeds but it doesn’t work with all types of weeds, so we have to get them out of the grass, with roots if possible. That’s a tough job to do, it’s tiring and doesn’t agree with my lumbar area. But I do it anyway.
Last Friday I had the landscape company mow and trim the lawn and creek area. It’s looking so nice now. My patio area is getting filled with flowers. The weather temperature is reaching the 80’s mark now to make it more attractive to be outdoors. I went shopping for more suet-seeds mix. I’m observing the birds that are returning from migrations and the locals too, the numbers have increased, so is the consumption of feed. I’ve turned to the plastic saucers because the ones made of baked clay are expensive and they break much too often. The plastic ones I’m screwing them to the deck’s hand rail.

Misc. The mystery is solved…
On previous post, my feeders had a mysterious visitor that only fed at night in the darkness of my backyard. For that purpose I purchased a Trail Camera with IR and motion sensor capability. Let me tell you about the camera, It’s a total ripoff! I tried so many times and I wasted my time, two jars of peanut butter and two containers of suet-seed mix. It seem like it’s triggered by motion only one time, the stays inactive for a next time. However, I had enough video to solve the mystery. It is a Common Opossum. I disregarded it originally before the video because I’ve never seen one in the area where I live in 12 years! My friend and follower reader suggested it correctly. Thank you, Indira!
Note: I opted for not uploading the video, instead I simply copied one frame where it shows only the rear of the opossum with the famous tail.

Well, I am so glad that mystery is solved, HJ! Good sleuthing! 😉 Great gallery of your feathered friends, they are so lucky to have you take care of them so well! ❤
Thank you so much, Donna. 🙂

Grazie mille! Un saluto. 🙂
Glad the mystery is solved, well done you!
Yes! I wonder what’s going to be next? Thank you Susan. 🙂
Mystery solved!
Yes! It was a common opossum, I didn’t think we had any in my area. 🙂
A cute critter was the mystery!! 😀
You gave me the correct suggestion, Indira. Thank you! 🙂
Great shots of the beautiful birds. Sorry about the camera but you did get a great shot of the night critter…I have a few of those at my place.
Thank you very much, Mags. 🙂
I am glad that you mystery has been solved. We had a bad experience with a motion sensor camera but I think that it was probably more our fault than the camera’s. I have seen very good results from them.
I tested the camera myself several times and it worked but seems to not be consistent with the motion sensor. I’ll work some more when I get some free time. Thanks. 🙂
Mystery solved! Beautiful gallery of shots!
Thank you so much, Clare. 🙂
