What’s Up? – Here and There…
Here & There…
This past week has been much closer to what spring is all about. The sunshine is doing marvels with the plants. The green color is more abundant at the moment. I’m happy to see my azaleas showing brilliant color flowers, my fig tree is sprouting leaves now, so are many of my trees and bushes.
A few days ago I went out to pull out some weeds from our lawns, It was the most tiring thing because of the position to do it, next day, my left thigh and waist was killing me. The worst part is that I haven’t finish the job yet. By now, my leg and waist are doing well, but I’m doomed because I will have to do it again in order to finish.
Today, I got a series of photos showing how the shy Downy Woodpecker acts in order to approach a feeder and get some seeds. The behavior is typical of this species. A very shy and cautious bird by its own nature, but many other birds could learn some of his rules for survival.
UPDATE: The problem with the nocturnal visitor, continuos. I’ve ordered the Trail Camera with IR capability.
That’s a wonderful series of photos. What could be better than playing peek-a-boo with a bird?
The bird is actually testing me to see if I present any problem, once satisfied of a safe situation, then proceeded to have a meal. How cool is that? Thanks, Linda. 🙂
A storytelling series!
Thank you, Indira. 🙂
Great captures of the little Downy…I love them and have lots of them at my place.
They are very pacific and independent, they usually mind their own business, as we say. Thank you very much, Mags. By the way they love suet-seeds mix. 🙂
Yes they do and I keep the suet seeds mix out for them all year.
Loved the little story you made with your pictures.
The birds are a bundle of fun…if you observe them. Thanks, Susan. 🙂
Very cute!
Thank you, Urzre. 🙂
Cute series HJ!
