There’s a close cousin, the Bahama Nuthatch, found only on Grand Bahama – and there are (optimistically) about 6 left. And they may all be males! Very similar indeed, but enough distinctions to make it a separate endemic species. Distinct, yes… and sadly near extinct. RH
