What’s Up? – Cool Autumn?…
Cool Autumn? …
We are going through a cooler than usual Autumn. Some of the leaves are falling from trees without changing colors which is unusual It does make a difference to what we’re used to. Other than that, everything else is going well. My birds are still visiting the feeders, blackbirds and doves are the most numerous all through the day.
My birds not only are eating my seeds but now are adding figs to their daily menu…from my fig tree! I haven’t eaten one yet! That’s going to be kind of difficult to do since they always beat me to it.
I think the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds are gone for the season. They are such lovely little birds. I enjoy seeing them every year.

Our hummingbirds are nearly gone, too, but some winter residents are beginning to show up. The first two whooping cranes were sighted down on the coast — hoorah!
Thank you for sharing Linda. 🙂
I have very much appreciated your photos over the past few month as we had to take in our feeders to discourage the coons from hanging around. The coons appear to have moved on now and the feeders are back out. Looking forward to the birds returning to the feeders.
That happens all the time, everywhere… they love easy catch! I do not discourage by that. If I see one coming in my backyard I go out and make a loud sound, that will scare them for a while. Their ears are very sensitive and a sound made with two slats of wood hitting each other make a sound like a shot! Thank you for sharing Dan. 🙂
The leaves turned early here in the Rocky Mountains, and then quickly fell. Not a good leaf season here, either.
Thanks K. for the feedback. 🙂
You have a lot of lovely visitors!!
Thank you Indira on their behalf! 🙂
You take good care of your feathered friends, HJ, they always look beautifully content!
Thank you Donna! I appreciate your words. 🙂
Love your group… sorry to hear about your figs!
Thanks Lisa! Maybe next year… 🙂
You’ll have to look sharp if you are going to get a fig.
I think so! 🙂
We often miss out on our figs too! Lovely collection of bird shots.
Thank you Clare! 🙂
