Loved this Saturday visit to the Red Zone, as always, HJ. I found the photo of the female cardinal, taken from overhead, especially enticing–her bill is lit in a magical way. I hope your Saturday and holiday weekend are delightful, HJ.
All my cardinals are in activity every day, young and old! There are several families of them nesting in my backyard! They make my day more colorful…

I am so envious, H. J. During a trip to Nebraska this past week I got exactly three very fleeting glimpses of this red beauties, but none of it sat still long enough for me to take a photo. ☹

Love your Saturday Reds, H.J.! When I look at you pics here (and previously) I really think that the male Cardinal’s beauty, while his color is gorgeous, is a bit one-dimensional compared to the female, who has so many beautiful hues 😀
