What’s Up? – Refreshing Bath
Refreshing Bath
I think, we are getting used to have cool mornings and warm afternoons! This new Spring mode might stick for a while. As long as we have warmth for the plants and birds I don’t mind.
I’ve just confirmed that the swallow that has been circling my house and trying to enter through my window, is nesting in my dryer’s vent again! The only difference is that it hasn’t pulled the veneer off, it has learned how to open and shut the darned thing!
Today, I’m dedicating this post to my “Sheriff”’s lady (My Mockingbird’s mate), she has been busy at her nest and she went out to take a hearty bath. Her joyful bath was obvious, she was elated and seemed so happy! Good for her!
Note: You must excuse the water being muddy, after all, that water is changed every couple of days and the bowl scrubbed clean. I must also say that it is shared by many birds which love to soak themselves and leave their mud and dirt behind.

Wonderful series, HJ! I love watching a bird take a bath, they always look like they enjoy it! 🙂
Don’t forget to set out the complimentary bath towels! 😉
I’m still embroidering the “His” and “Hers” on the towels… thank you Donna! 🙂 🙂
I’ve read that a little dirt, a little algae, isn’t a bad thing in a bird bath. Some say it helps the birds recognize it as a bathing place, and gauge the depth of the water. Whether that’s true, I don’t know, but compared to the puddles I see the birds bathing in around here, our little bird baths are sparkling clean!
I totally agree with that Linda. I have noticed that when the water’s recently been replaced they do not bathe, only drink. I placed a piece of driftwood and some rocks for the following reasons. The wood releases a tanning substance and darkens the water and the rocks are different sizes so smaller birds can drink too! Thank you very much my friend! 🙂
You look after your birds so well, I hope they appreciate it.
They really do appreciate it…they let me photograph them for this Blog!
Thank you Susan. I appreciate your comments too! 🙂
