What’s Up? – Better Days are coming…
Better Days are Coming…
When the weather temperatures, are not within the average numbers for the Season, all wildlife habitual patterns change accordingly. In the case of birds, it becomes evident the decrease of individuals of all local species from the backyard feeders. I’m not even considering the birds that regularly migrate during Winter time.
My backyard feeders are not frequented by birds at the same patterns and many of those birds are not following their usual habits. Believe or not, I waste a great amount of feed because the weather ruins it with rain, frost or wind.
My opportunities to getting good photo shots are very limited because of the weather. It’s very cold, too breezy, dark and cloudy or dark and rainy…Non of these conditions are propitious to a Photographer.
I just hope that we will get better weather, more favorable and more suitable for this time of the year, here in Georgia.

Great post on the perils of weather changes on birds and nice shots, HJ! 🙂
Thank you very much Donna! Early morning was 1º F, then the sun came out and we had 11º F for breakfast! 🙂
Wonderful gallery, in spite of inclement weather!
Thank you Indira! 🙂
Great shots HJ 🐧 We all have the same difficulties during this dark, stormy and rainy weather… I lose so much food as if i can afford it. I wish you wonderful moments with birds 🦅
Thank you Beth!…You’re right, the waste is great but I’m working on that, I’m collection the seeds whether frozen or wet and dry them for use not on my feeders but on small area on the ground where I noticed the doves love it! So I reclaim at least 50% of total seeds. I love the birds and I try to do what I can to help them. They give me joy and pose for photos! 😉
They give us indeed such joy that it is difficult to put it into words. I’m glad at least not everything lost! Thank you HJ 🦅🐧🐦🦉
Beautiful photos despite the nasty weather. I especially love the Carolina Wren. I waste enough seed trying to fill my feeders with frozen hands in the dark before I leave for work…
There’re to things I suggest you buy: A pair of gloves and a flash light! 🙂
Only kidding! Thanks for sharing Lisa.
It is annoying when you have bird visitors but you don’t have good light at the same time. I hope that you get better weather soon.
I don’t usually fuzz about those things but it becomes frustrating after a while of the same. Thanks Tom! 🙂
Wonderful gallery!
I’m glad you like it Carol, thank you! 🙂
I hope you will not get much snow from this winter storm. The weather had, indeed, been unpredictable lately. It’s felt colder here in FL due to the high winds that it did in Sweden. But better days are coming…
I hope we won’t get more snow, my quota of snow was fulfilled for this winter already! Nature works on her own, not by human’s command. I, just comply with her. Thanks Tiny! 🙂
