Great image, HJ. I’ve seen the lappet-faced vulture in the wild, and even though the pair were perched on a nest way at the top of an acacia tree, they still looked enormous and daunting.
As it happens with all vultures, they are not the most handsome birds in the wild kingdom however are among the most interesting birds. I saw them in Israel, going from Jerusalem to Eilat on a bus. The vultures have something special in their system…they are immune to most of bacteria and viruses. This could be very precious to humans in the future. Thank you my friend. 🙂
