Book Review
“This revised and expanded Field Guide is an amazing amount of work related to pinpoint locations, descriptions of birds, status, tips for easy IDs and all pertaining informations that lead to a quick knowledge about the subject in reference. Besides a graphic map indicating locations where species are commonly found.
The plethora of illustrations ( Over 2600) is quite impressive work, each bird illustration denotes the most identifiable characteristics making the ID a snap! The guide has 512 pages full of valuable information to birders pros, amateurs or any person with an interest for birds. I should mention that this guide covers the locations in this zone of Africa which are rich in avian species and somehow more incipient in the studies of the birds population. I believe this guide would definitely help any birder visiting the Horn of Africa!”

Wow, thanks for bring this to my attention! I wonder if this means Terry Stevenson is leading tours (went with him to Kenya and Tanzania). I may have to go back to Africa…someday. 🙂
It’s ok Lisa, that’s why I’m here for! 🙂 All you have to do is…wish!
Ditto!
An excellent review…straight to the point, with a clear verdict. Well done!
My style of review is simple and direct, short is better than long. These are not novels or epic stories with chapters that vary from one to the next, instead they are rather guides where if you like the first few pages format and structure, the whole guide will have the same effect! Thank you John! 🙂
Very helpful.
Thank you very much Susan! 🙂
Good review, HJ. If Terry Stevenson was an author, it must be great.
This guide’s compiling a lot of info and species, remember that covers several locations in that area of Africa. Thank you my friend! 🙂
This would have come handy when we lived in Ethiopia. There were so many birds, particularly in the birders’ ‘mecca’ in Awash national Park, that I could not identify.
I’m sure it would have! This is a good guide. Thanks Tiny! 🙂
