Look Outside my Window!

Hello folks! We meet again, like every Tuesday when we take a look outside my window. After having very cold days and freezing temperatures, suddenly we are getting some balmy weather with temperatures in the mid 70’s. Of course, you may have noticed already because is a fairly sunny day, which is preferred by me and the birds. Let’s take a look, can you see that Song Sparrow ready to get some delicious seeds from that clay saucer? …there on the deck’s handrail!L-108

What do I see up on that branch? It’s a Chipping Sparrow! I haven’t seen them since the end of Summer. This one is looking very healthy and strong. Must be just passing by with other birds.L-109

Look over to the right, on the deck! Another sparrow is savoring the seeds from another clay saucer. It’s a Field Sparrow! Wow! I could only speculate that these sparrows might be traveling together in a larger flock. It’s so great to see them again, even for a short time.L-110

Note: Before you arrived was kind of cold miserably gray morning and later turned warm and sunny, just take a look at that Mourning Dove that has been sitting on that branch for hours! She’s still on a wintery mood! Cheer up my friend!L-111

  1. We are having a couple of those unseasonable days in the middle of our very hot summer, some of the wettest and coldest days ever in summer, I can imagine the migratory birds would be wondering whats going on here, but for your part of the world, winter is on your doorstep, and all this talk about reindeer and snow makes more sense, as it makes none here! Love your little sparrows, it always reminds me that even the little sparrow is just as precious in God’s eye, as much as the larger more fancy birds, and so that is with us also. Have a wonderful Christmas HJ and keep warm:-)
