It looks like his eye is closed, a little nap. I enjoyed a northern mockingbird concert last night. Stopped for gas on the way back from Boston and took the dog for a stroll.
The guy was a singing away with his version of “other” song. I stood as still as possible beneath him. He cocked his head and looked right at me, eye contact! The personal concert was fantastic!

I used to like this bird…until I saw them joining the harassers of the osprey chicks that were just fledging, but it’s still beautiful and I’m biased 🙂 Great shot, H. J.!
