Odd but Even
Once in a while, a person that watches birds frequently gets the opportunity to see something odd but not of any consequence. Like in the case of today’s featured bird, it’s a House Finch female that most likely is about the end of her molting process, as you may know, In birds, molting is the periodic replacement of feathers by shedding old feathers while producing new ones.
Of course, this House Finch in perfect health and will grow to be a breeding mother and have a normal family of her own.
I just wanted to show you how Nature sometimes can be a bit peculiar and give us a smile in the process.
Thank you Mother Nature! 😉

Very cool. I wondered where those “owl ears” came from!
That’s a good question I’m still pondering! Thanks! 🙂

I love your broad smile! 🙂
Ahh! How sweet. Unfortunately no-one would say that about me if I went out looking like that!
Ha, ha! Thanks Clare! 🙂
I understand the “odd” but how did you intend for “even” to apply here?
It’s just playing with words for the title: The bird looks odd, different however is not, it’s evenly normal.
