A Bit of Sunny Weather
Birds behave more lively with just a bit of sun added to an increase of few degrees in temperature. It does wonders to the photographer too!
I’ve been noticing more bird activity lately, with the increased temperature and the seed consumption has increased too. It might be an indication that cold weather might be winding down and be warmer soon. I really hope so!
List of birds I’ve seen lately:
- Mourning Dove ( Lots of them)
- Chipping Sparrows (More than I’ve seen trough last season)
- Field Sparrows ( Many of them decided to stay local)
- Northern Cardinals (They own the place)
- Northern Mockingbird ( They rule the place)
- Carolina Chickadee ( Local couples)
- Carolina Wren (The opera singers)
- White-breasted Nuthatch ( New in neighborhood)
- Brown-headed Nuthatch (Local guys)
- Song Sparrows ( Local family)
- Eastern Towhee (Local couples)
- American Goldfinch (Some still around)
- House Finch ( Some still around)
- White-throated Sparrow

A lovely selection of pics! I like the beautiful light and colour of the northern cardinal pic and the mockingbird one reminds me of my favourite book, “To Kill a Mockingbird” although I don’t know which species they were talking about in the book. 🙂
Birds are like flowers (I call them flying flowers), their beauty and colors inspire and stimulate our minds evoking memories. Thanks for sharing Jane! 🙂
Gorgeous gallery today! Glad to hear your sun and warmer temperatures are returning. I hope they are there to stay! We are excited because we are supposed to be above freezing for the weekend! 🙂
Thanks Amy! I hope you get the warmer weather and take a respite from the bitter cold! 🙂
You captured your birds’ happiness to be in the sunshine. The days are getting longer too–a reminder that it’s almost time to get down to business. Great shots. 🙂
Thanks Lisa! I really miss Spring! Yesterday we had a late afternoon storm with rain and hard winds, after being sunny and beautiful! Rats! 🙂
