Icy Does It!
Yesterday morning was a very frigid one for our side of Georgia. This part of Georgia usually has a mild winter as well as a glorious autumn but this year we’ve been hit with the Arctic Vortex temperatures a few times bringing the below freezing temperatures.
When I first looked out the window i could see the crystalline frost covering everything and saw a little bird sitting on an empty clay saucer that I use as feeder, my first thought was that the bird was frozen or stuck to the saucer I shot some pictures of this. Of course I was wrong, he was just sitting in wait for me to give them breakfast! The sun rays were breaking through the tall pines and the light was creating a good mood for some pictures. I was ready to take some cold air, it was worth it!
Here are some shots from yesterday early morning. Enjoy!

I liked all the photos today, HJ, and seeing the photo with all the feeders was good evidence that you have a LOT of mouths to feed! 😀
I treat them like family! It makes me feel good to do it! Thanks Jet! 🙂
I liked the 4th image of the field sparrow best, he looked so cross I thought!
Thank you Susan! 🙂
An excellent shot of the Carolina Wren among an array of fine shots.
Thank you Tom! 🙂
Those little birds must be so pleased you are there for them! Lovely photos of the birds and the ice crystals are so clear!
It’s the least I can do for them! Thanks Clare! 🙂
Such a lovely gallery HJ… I hope you are having a groovy weekend so far.
Best wishes!, Aquileana 😀
Yes! I’ve just got back from vacation in Florida. Thank you Aquileana! 🙂
Great shots HJ. It’s been fairly mild here, and the birds have barely used the feeders so far this year. Too many berries and bugs I think, but good for our little friends.
Thanks for sharing Dave! 🙂
wonderful and joyful photos!
