Poems and Pix

Is it Tme?

The sun is hiding in the western horizon,

the sky is like a vast prairie roundup of a herd

of dark clouds with reddish dust covered reflections

I look at the dark green open field in the other direction

and let the sun bid me goodnight.

When the sun is out of sight

darkness defines the night slowly

Not one star is awaken and shining, but I don’t feel lonely

Behold! Has my mind wandered array

or my eyes are deceiving me?

for I can see the stars… but not in the sky above!

they are on the field and seeking to meet me.

Are they nymphs of the field? Or perhaps angels

looking for my soul?

It is a wonderful sight, what a delight!

What a disappointing experience

I have to endure, when I find out

they are not stars, nymphs nor angels

…just curious fireflies!

  1. You certainly have a way with stringing those descriptive phrases together, HJ ! – soon you’ll be as good at that as you are with your wonderful carousels of glorious little birds …

      • I am perfectly sure you can: you have the images in your head, and it’s just a matter of getting them out of it and onto the screen, eh ? 🙂
