We are Creatures of Habit
The largely expected Spring has manifested finally in good form, after the depressing days of cold, snowy, icy, dark of a extremely long Winter.
One thing I’ve noticed immediately is the lack of subject for conversation or discussion on the Internet or anywhere for that case. People forgot about those most hated days of cursing for the School snow days, same about the no working day because the icy roads. Going to the Food Market and finding no food because no supply deliveries were done, for the same reason. Tension, stress and discomfort were on the brink. Now, all that is gone and forgotten!
Bad moods have turned around, in fact there no time to think about the ice or the annoying “white stuff”. No problem, just pay the heating bills and change gear That’s all! We’re creatures of habits.
We have entered to a different crisis! We are worried about our lawns, gardens, shrubs, flowers, hoses, lawn mowers, trimmers, etc. You can walk out of your front door and take a look around and see people working on a number of things related to their homes, backyards or garages. A total change has overtaken all neighbor’s minds, we all are involved in synchronized thinking, a voice is in everybody’s mind telling us: “Spring is here , whether you do something outdoors now!… Or Winter will come back again!”

There’s the Savannah Sparrow that has yellow eyebrow too, but doesn’t have the white throat. 🙂

Very amusing! We all have short attention spans I think. As soon as something new comes along we forget what we were concerned about just before. But lovely spring after a hard winter is so hard to resist – we just want to forget the misery and put it all behind us. This is how it was for us last year too. Another good collection of lovely birds and so well photographed as usual.

Great selection of photos, H.J. I especially love the cardinal and the white-throated sparrow. I have been thinking recently that January, February and March seemed to drag but since April and spring arrived, time is already flying! Something about the warmer temperatures and clearer skies, and all those spring yard chores and such, makes time go a lot faster!
