My Computer is Back
I got my MacBook Pro back, repaired and with all data intact. I immediately proceeded to transfer all my files to my external drive. In fact I’ll be buying another external drive because one is not sufficient for the amount of pictures that I shoot.
To repair my computer they replaced the logic board, the two cooling fans and replaced the battery, the board was not handling the flow of data normally and immediately created an increase of temperature that caused the computer to shut down, plus the fans were not working properly.
I’m pleased to have my computer back. I have it well organized and I feel more comfortable working with this one.
Next Tuesday we’ll have my cousin and his wife visiting us for a few days, they just finished their Cruise to the Bahamas and Miami. He’s one of the cousins that went with me to Peru last year.

Great shots. good news. I always keep my photos on external drives. Knock wood my G-drives have never failed me.
Yes I agree, I’m making my computer lighter and hence faster by working from my external drive. Thanks Victor!
Excellent news HJ, and some more excellent bird shots. A good, reliable system for backup is something that I am still working on. I used to backup to a network drive and a USB external drive, but the network drive proved unreliable. I’m still trying to resolve the problem.
Thanks Dave! Through the years I’ve lost 1000’s of photos due to computer malfunction even with external drives, the older versions were not reliable at all! 🙂
Wonderful!
Thank you Alois! 🙂
Good to know all is well on the computer front, lovely birds as usual.
You’re so kind Susan, thank you! 🙂
Good news and lovely photos! My favorite is the white-throated sparrow.
Thank you very much Sharifah! 🙂
Glad for you that it’s all over. Phew! RH
Yes! thank you RH! 🙂
Back up is the way to go…..I do it sometimes…..I am going to do it more.
Yes, I agree with you Tom, I’ll do it downloading the camera pictures directly to the external drive and bring in only copies of what I process. 🙂
Hip Hip Hooray!! 🙂 Now you can breath a little easier. Your dilemma sure has put us all on alert that we need to back-up as often as we can.
Thanks Donna, I hope that you have pinpointed with assertion the moral of this story. I was lucky not to loose any data. Thanks Donna! 🙂
