Snow?
What do you know! We got some snow on Tuesday! No kidding, 3 inches. There were school closings for our County, people went scrambling to the food markets to buy supplies like crazy last night, they showed it on TV.
It was kind of ironic that I had troves of birds coming to my feeders eating like crazy too. I was happy that I could help these birds get their daily meals. It was nice to see different kinds of birds sharing their meals. When the snow started to cover the deck I simply could not resist the temptation to shoot some pictures even when it was dark and a bit windy. Later, conditions were less than friendly.
However, I had to go out refill feeders a second time because birds were all over the deck digging for seeds. I guess they were still hungry!

I think the snow made for a wonderful background for birds. We had more birds at our feeders in the last few Alabama SNOWy days, then in our whole year! You have beautiful photos! ~amy
Yes, same here! Thank you Amy! 🙂
Poor birds – must have been quite a shock!
They’re fine, they’re cleaning me out of seeds! 🙂
Great pictures, HJ! For what it’s worth, the birds flock to the feeders more when it snows up here too. As long as it isn’t blowing snow and windy, then it gets to be a little too crazy for them. You get a great variety of species in your yard.
Yes, I heard that from other people too! and yes I do get variety of species. Thank you Lisa! 🙂
Something you got to see too, snow bird tracks! Lovely photos, snow always adds an interesting touch to bird captures. What did Tyler think of the snow? 🙂
Duh Donna, read the next post LOL! Sorry I’m behind HJ!
