It’s All About the Weather

Just for the heck of it, the temperature in the part of Georgia where I live was 5°F (-17°C).

The schools were closed because the difficulties to start up the buses and avoiding to expose the children to the harsh cold while waiting for the bus. The reason that I mention this on my blog is because in Georgia we’re used to live in moderate temperatures at any of the seasons.

This morning I had difficulties to fill the feeders because they were frozen shut and couldn’t open the lids, the dishes were stuck to the deck and covered with ice, the whole deck was frozen. Last night we has some rain before the temperature suddenly dropped considerably. It certainly looks like “global warming”…???. Yeah right!

Next I have some fresh pictures that I shoot when the sun breaks through the gray sky.

  1. Don’t worry it looks like we will get a repreieve from all of this cold weather this weekend. Today’s high will finally get above freezing here in MD. Lovely images of the Titmouse. It sure is a cute little bird.

  2. Tried to comment on this yesterday but my connection wasn’t cooperating. By now you are probably warming up as we are. I have been dumping out a lot of birdseed that got covered with drifting snow…either to be eaten or turn into sunflowers in the spring.

  3. It is so hard to imagine such freezing weather, coming from a country that complains when the temperature drops below 1 degree C. But at least we get all the birds that migrate down to us :D. Climate change has affected us by rain and more rain.
Lovely photos and what a lovely bird feeder!
