Busy, Busy!

Last year I had many Field Sparrows coming to my backyard and I can only assume that they had their nests nearby. Of course I can’t say the same for this year, when I had them  only for a short while on the Spring.

These birds are small and pretty, resemble little toys with funny skinny legs. Clean cut birds with reddish feathers on head and upper body, some light gray round the neck, white thin bars on wings also have white breast and under-parts, has long reddish tail with notch at the end.

I think they are nice birds to have in your backyard, they love flying all over the backyard and make it look busy like Atlanta Airport! You got to love that!

Next are some photos of these cute birds! Enjoy!

  1. Beautiful captures!. They are adorable busy dwellers. The Sparrow family is so large and with tiny differences between species that I had a hard time trying to determine which visit my garden!.

I like the feeder that looks like a net with a wooden frame. It is large enough to accomodate many diners. Did you make it?.

    • Thank you Carmen for your words, you’re right in one thing, if you don’t have a trained eye all sparrows look the same!
I made that for a while but it didn’t work as I expected. There’s too much seed waste when it rains. Then later some of the seeds germinate and becomes a mess of a thousand roots! I always try different methods to allow me to not only feed the birds but also help me photograph them. Two birds with one shot! (Pun intended) 🙂
