Happy Company

I’m happy that one of my all-time favorites the Carolina Chickadees is still active round the backyard.

These birds are not only small and beautiful, furthermore, brave and very protective of their nests. I’ve seen them stand-up to much larger birds just because they got too close to their nest… and chase them away! I enjoy seeing these vivacious birds flying back and forth picking seeds from the feeders or watching how they crack open the sunflower seeds_ they’re experts doing it!

I’m posting a set of 6 recent photos for you, next:

  1. Beautiful pictures!. I enjoy our Black-Capped Chickadees very much, too. They are vivacious and very active. They pick one seed, then fly back to a tree and over again for several rounds –as opposed to perching long for a quiet snacktime. This is a trait shared with the Nuthatch. They both make the feeder area very lively!.

    • You’ve described their feeding habits very well! You’re right on the money in all counts. I’m glad to meet someone that pays attention to detail. Thanks for sharing Carmen! 🙂
