Fun Day in the Country

We’re going through a heat wave in my area! To this add a lot of humidity to it! _ It’s just horrible to do some work outdoors!

It took me two days to finish mowing the lawn and do the trimming! Working under these conditions I get soaked in sweat!

Why did I have to do the work now? Because my lawn grass was getting ruined, with the continuous rain we had prevented me to mow the lawn and it then the grass grows too long, and when is long retains to much water water and then rots. It becomes costly already having Turf Masters come, add fertilizer, pest and weed control for the grass to be nice and green. I have to mow it!

 Changing subject

We were invited to spend the day at our friend’s country home and we drove two and a half hours to see them, we had a great time, had BBQ next to their pond, the grill was over fire burning hickory logs, it was great! The kids had fun at the swing hanging from a tree, they ran around chasing the 5 dogs they own, also had a fishing contest (My friends have stocked their pond with fish: Bass, Cat Fish, Carp, two kinds of sunny fish)

Tyler, my 3 year old won the contest, he did 2 castings and caught 2 fish, one of them was the largest at 6 inches! The fish are still growing and they’re retuned to the pond. I bet you that next year that big pond will be filled with big fish.

There was a tractor ride also. They went around the pond and other trails.

Would you believe me if I tell you I didn’t see one single bird all day? I shot some pictures of Damsels and dragonflies which are abundant flying around.

We had to contend with the high temperature and the unbelievable humidity here too!.

Later in the afternoon we drove back home, totally exhausted! But it was a fun day for everyone!
