Where are They?
The past few days I haven’t seen the Northern Mockingbirds that usually fly round my backyard. I just wonder, are they are moving to a new location?.
One thing I know is that I have a neighbor that moved in a few months ago (I haven’t met them yet) about three houses from me, they’ve installed several bird feeders and a few little bird houses. My wife says that they are always looking at my backyard and the birds coming and going to it. I can only guess that they might like the same kind of traffic in their backyard. I don’t care, really! I wish more people to get involved into caring for birds!
I’m sure that the Northern Mockingbirds will be back, they’ve been a fixture in my backyard.
“Otherwise who’s going to poop on my mailbox?”
(Does it happen to you too?) That’s how I get to know if they’re around or not.

It’s a beautiful bird…
Yes! Thank you Mona! 🙂
Are they a migratory species? I know some birds have begun their fall migration already. I like that last, up-close shot. 🙂
They’re considered permanent residents. However, the might migrate south when the weather turns extreme harsh. They’ve been here for 7 years already. I don’t worry about this. I know that they’ll be back. Thanks Amy! 🙂
Perhaps they are just taking a little vacation then and checking out some new feeding grounds. 😀 I’m sure they will return to your lovely oasis soon!
Thanks Amy! 🙂
LOL. That is pretty cool HJ. My mother in law has been feeding birds for quite some time now but she has no interest in photography. I may get a platform feeder this weekend and try my hand at capturing some Avian photographs myself. I always like seeing the numerous species of birds that you are able to capture :-).
That’d be great MD! let’s see what happen! Thanks! 🙂
We got plenty of them where we are located. West Coast. No answer for your question I know.
Thank you for sharing BD! 🙂
