Northern Mockingbird
Once in a while I see Northern Mockingbirds flying around the backyard. There’s one that has a bad habit to stand on my mail box and poop on it, he never fails to do that!
I like these Mockingbirds because they do help secure the area and even when they never eat from the feeders, they keep large intruders out or give the alarm when a raptor is near. Countless times I’ve seen them chasing large crows out of “their territory”, fact that it’s beneficial to other small birds.

The Northern Mockingbird is Texas’s state bird, and we have them all over. Great photos, MJ. 🙂
