Mrs. Cardinal

Today is all about Mrs. Cardinal. The female Northern Cardinal is a great partner and companion for the male. They both are tough birds, great parents. The female is feisty and keep her ground well on a dispute with other birds.

I’ve been blessed to have so many N. Cardinals in my backyard, this fact has given me a tremendous opportunity to observe closely their lives and behaviors.

These are not just good looking birds, these are species that live in a social group and thrive under any circumstances.

  1. We used to see Cardinals when my son lived in New Hampshire. Since he has moved to Freeport, Maine, we haven’t spotted any. Maybe we have been unfortunate with seasons and migration?

    • Most likely reason is migration, our eastern territory is very large and the seasons arrive at different degrees of intensity, the States further north start their bird migrations earlier than the States that continue south. Thanks Dave for sharing.
