Happy to Be Outdoors – Part Two
I found it very refreshing mentally going out for the day to be next to nature and see a body of water and birds other then the ones I got in my backyard.
As I mentioned on my previous post, the humidity was close to reaching the point of rain. It was extremely sticky and warm. For a while my lenses where a bit blurred with the vapor condensation, but it dissipated soon, that’s how humid it was. Of course there are many species of birds that aren’t there anymore, most have migrated already.
List of birds I saw, some I didn’t have a chance to photograph.
- Rock Pigeons
- Mallard Ducks
- Canadian Geese
- Chipping Sparrows
- Eastern Bluebirds
- Downy Woodpecker
- Chinese Geese
- Gray Cockatoo (Yes!)
At the end of our outing we were satisfied, my grandson Tyler was real tired and slept the way back home. It was good to be outdoors!
- Chipping Sparrow
- View across the lake.
- Eastern Bluebird (M)
- Chinese Goose (M)
- Mallard Duck (M)

- Canadian Geese

Good shots HJ and glad you enjoyed your day out. Our granddaughter sitting duties haven’t allowed me to spot any birds in Maine yet that I can photograph. At least the weather is improving as the first couple of days were really wet.
The day after my day out we got rain all day and the day after too! This morning is starting with bright sunshine! Thanks Dave for sharing! 🙂
It truly is great to spend some time outdoors with the family. The scenery looks so peaceful and relaxing and you got to see quite a few bird species as well. Sounds like you had a great time.
Yes we did have a good time, after so many days of heat wave that we had last summer. Thank you! 🙂
Thank you so much for the gift of these photographs – I get so much vicarious glee from your blog!
I’m so glad that you feel like that about my photography, thank you for your appreciation Julie. 🙂
Nice photos, HJ! It’s a beautiful time of year.
Thank you Lisa! You’re right, it is! 🙂
