Have Patterns of Bird Migration Changed?

I have noticed a change in the pattern on which certain species of birds have visited my backyard, coma red to previous years. There are many species that have not showed up at all!

I analyzed this situation by manner of elimination, my feeders have the same food, the plants and flowers are the same, all trees are the same. Then all came to one factor which is the variant: Weather! Right from the start of the Spring we have had high weather temperatures and then summer is still annoyingly scorching and humid. Apparently the patterns of bird migration have been altered in order to survive the heat wave.

On Sunday I was on my way to another town to visit some relatives and I noticed at one point a small flock of geese flying to the north direction. It called my attention, maybe it is only a coincidence.

I’m posting some photos of Field Sparrows that I’m starting to see less of them.

    • Exactly! I see that you’ve noticed that change too! I suspect that the oceans currents are changing positions and warming/cooling parts of the globe creating major changes to the weather. (My opinion)
