House Finch
House Finches are the “Other red birds” for many people, which always keep in mind the Cardinals when they see a bird with red feathers and find that they are not! That’s when they refer of House Finches as the other red birds!
I think it’s a bit unfair to them because these birds are very common and are seen in almost every backyard feeder. They mostly mind their own business. When they found their mate is a whole romantic story. They do things together and they are most of the time next to each other. When they nest and are incubating eggs they take turns to lay on the eggs.
I think this species are cool birds, very family oriented. They watch from a far high point when is time for the fledging of their young finches.

So sweet!
Thank you Julie! 🙂
Now that bird I do recognize from vistis to my feeder. Have a great day 🙂
Thank you D. Have a good day too! 🙂
Great shots AJ! I love these little birds, there’s a pair that often perch on my third floor balcony railing together. Of course, they make a mess on it too, lol. But okay with me, it’s an easy clean-up, for the joy of watching them from inside. 🙂
They love to be be near urban areas. About the mess they leave? I don’t worry, I’m thankful that are not elephants! 🙂
Ever since I changed bird feed a month ago, I’ve been having house finches, bluebirds, and cedar waxwings in addition to the ubiquitous mourning doves.
So you finally quit feeding them M&Ms? 🙂
Those mourning doves will eat just about anything, but they are not fortunate enough to get my M&Ms! lol
Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as clean as when I arrived.
As I told you before, you’re most welcome in my camp! Thanks Russ! 🙂
