Great Blue Heron
The Great Blue Heron is one of my favorite birds for photography, they are very photogenic, large and slow moving. They act as if they are posing for you and every move they make enhances the shot. Besides the have a great plumage and elegant poise. With this bird there are no wasted shots like with other birds that move so much that you need 20 shots or more to get 1 good one!
I could be shooting photos all day long with them as subjects!

There is a place here where the great blue herons, black-crowned night herons, and great egrets hang out all day. Surprisingly, the place does not have a lot of people even though it’s a boat dock and hotel resort.
I’m always looking for those kind of places! 🙂
