American Crow
American Crows are large birds, noisy, cantankerous and strong. Most people have seen them one way or another whether picking roadkills from the roads or seeing the big black bird on top of a tall tree making such a ruckus! They may not be so popular birds with the public but they are beneficial to cleaning the environment.

We need our crows…whether we like it or not. Glad you gave them some recognition.
I like to be fair and honest, I do not patronize or kiss anybody’s butt to be nice. If I’m nice is because I mean it. Most times I end my comments with a smily icon, it’s because I’m smiling! 🙂
Personally, I think the world would be a far less interesting and intriguing place without our Crows and Ravens. They have pride of place in Northwest Native culture and stories. Of course, those in Indiana might disagree with me–too many are too many (of anything). These are nice photographs.
Thank you Lance for your honesty and fair account about these birds. I have preferences about certain birds like most people have but this fact does not interfere with the importance or qualities that other birds may have on their role as being part of Nature. I will give fair credit to their merits.
Noisy and cantankerous might be one of the great understatements of the year! lol
