Northern Mockingbird
It’s time to have a few words about the “guardians” of my backyard. The reason why I call them guardians is simply because the do guard the safety of most birds in my backyard.
By position themselves at key points where they have good sight of the area, they sound the alarm if any outsider poses any danger on the bird community. There are times when it’s not enough just sounding and alarm, they also proceed to confront the intruder, (see photo) The Northern Mockingbirds are ok in my book, true heroes, I tip my hat to them.

Great! Thanks! 🙂
It’s a very handsome bird.
Yes! They are handsome and brave! Thanks for your comment! 🙂
I need some mockingbirds as we have crows everywhere!
🙂
This is beautiful. I love Mockingbirds. We rarely see them here. Thanks for the post!
Thanks for the comment Lisa! N. My blog has many pictures of them because I see them daily, all year! How can I refuse to photograph them! 🙂
Well I guess it’s my job then to take pictures of the crows!
The ones around here like to do a lot of singing, too. Them, the mourning doves, and the house finches.
Mockingbirds can sometimes full you and sing a song from a different bird. They’re great imitators! 🙂
