Swans

There are many creatures in the world that are beautiful, colorful and graceful. Swans are on top of the list.

I remember when I was of young age seeing a swan swimming around at a pond. In my young mind this bird appeared to be a beautiful toy, it impressed my eyes as being too beautiful to be real. Later in life I still get the same impression when I see one.

I can humbly pretend to understand why Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (Peter I. Tchaikovsky) musical compositions make reference to swans. I assume that perhaps he too was inspired by the grace of the swan which he transformed to write such exquisite ballet music.

The problem is there are too few of them where I live. There’s a lake about a half mile from me that has a couple of resident swans, and then there’s the Zoo, of course.
