Sea Birds from Peru

Last June I spent my vacation in Lima the Capital of Peru, visited many places within the city, also went on a drive to see different towns and ports north and south of Lima.

There are a number of beaches  along the coastline of Lima. Some have piers or harbor s (Fishing towns) some others only serve as resorts or public beaches. They’re quite nice. I hear that they get very busy in Summer!

While I was doing my tourist routine I had the opportunity to photograph some seabirds that called my attention. They are in my gallery beyond my backyard.

Talking to some friends that were also traveling in Peru, they mentioned what everybody call “The birds Paradise” They are talking about a place called Manu, located in the southeast part of the Amazon jungle. It’s the place where birders from all over the world are fascinated with the tremendous variety of new birds species. I spoke with someone that was there and talk about wonders of landscapes and rarity and beauty of the birds. Also mentioned certain difficulties to get to that point, but is obvious that they made it OK! 🙂

I’m including Manu to my list of places to go visit.

  3. I can never get enough of pelicans. I used to never see them here in San Diego, which puzzled me, but the last four or five years they seem to be everywhere. A few months ago the local newspaper had an article about how pelicans are invading San Diego. Doesn’t bother me!

  4. They are interesting large birds of the sea, I’ve seen them in many places, they eat a lot of fish and can be aggressive to other birds.
