I’m aware that the summer will be getting to and end soon and most birds will embark in their migratory journey. I also know that some of these birds might decide to brave the fall and winter weather and stay in my backyard area. I will definitely have my feeders filled with their favorite seeds just in case. I’ll do the same with the hummers feeders and have enough nectar for their consumption. I’ll definitely miss all the daily excitement of my busy backyard, my everyday’s crowd that keeps me going. I know I’ll have a few species that will remain locally, so there’s always some avians to observe and photograph.
Here are some photos that I selected for you. These birds are some of the ones still visiting my feeders.

There are shows on TV such as Jay Leno’s, Conan’s, Letterman’s and others. I don’t watch any of them, I used to watch once in a while years ago before the invention of Internet. But I know what those show’s formats are about, interviews, personalities, celebrities, music, jokes etc.
I figured that I could have my own show for only one interview to my backyard celebrity, non other that Ruby!
I have prepared a rather short questionnaire about different topics to get to know more about Ruby’s skills and personality. And starts like this:
HJ: I’ve heard that you can do impressions of celebrities, politicians and a variety of characters. I wonder if you could give us some examples of your skills?
Ruby: How about Governor Chris Christie from New Jersey?
Ruby: Or Sir Winston Churchill from England?
HJ: How about celebrities from TV or media?
Ruby: Do you mean posing like Kim Kardashian?
Ruby: Or how about Victoria Beckham?
HJ: I know that you’ve traveled all over the world!
Ruby: To name one, how about Scotland, with my umbrella. It really rains there!
Ruby: I liked the Geisha in Japan!
HJ: Excellent! How about doing some avians of your choice?
Ruby: How about a pelican?
Ruby: Or a Golden Eagle?
Ruby: Finally I’m doing a Penguin for you!
HJ: Thank you very much Ruby! I’m very grateful for this interview!
Ruby: You’re welcome HJ!

Last Friday started as a gray day, regardless of no rain the humidity was way up and temperatures in the high 70s. I had all the feeders refilled and got my camera ready, since I love gray days for photography, shadowless and sharp. For a while didn’t see any birds beside the Hummers, then suddenly all hell broke loose! Seemed like somebody must have sent a twitter 🙂 because a mob of birds came to eat, no less than 20 N. Cardinals both genders, Mourning Doves, Song Sparrows and was stunned by the appearance of C. Chickadees that I thought were gone. Most birds are sporting their non-breeding color plumage at this time in the season. I had a great time shooting pictures and it definitely made my day! Over a year ago I had a Canon camera Rebel T1i that it was dropped from my tripod and got damage, cracked the body in one corner on the bottom and went out of whack in the electronic functions. It was unusable. I bought a Canon 60D and totally forgot about the T1i. A week ago I sent it to Canon Repair Service and they preferred to replace it for one T1i new for $200.-. I’m so elated about it! I tried Camera Repairs and just charged $ 99.00 for looking at it and others simply refused to take the job. Now I have a new camera again! So now my equipment is: Canon 5D, Canon 60D, Canon T1i, Canon 20D, Canon SX30, Canon G10.
