Happy Valentine’s Day!

Dietary Staple Back to Normal

Well, the food crisis was over yesterday when I got plenty of seeds for my birds! Despite the cold and breeze day yesterday, it was sunny and bright. I observed  a good number of birds coming and going which is a good Indication that are strong and healthy. I keep the mode of shooting pictures at random times, to this effect it helps the sun light change the colors and tones of the backgrounds and usually makes my photos look a bit more artistic and with pleasing colors.

I have been very busy with other things that are very important and required my full attention but I always take some breaks to tend my blogs or to be in touch with my blogger friends.

This coming Saturday we will have invited some friends associates to have dinner in our home, it’s also St. Valentine Day so should be good fun to get together. With conversation, food and of course some good wine to wash it down.

Soup Du Jour

Remember the nicer weather that we had before? I gave you my opinion of how great invigorating time we were having… Well, forget about that because after having another great morning and early afternoon, it got windy and cloudy very fast and then we had a storm on top of us… Just like telling me to shut up!

It indeed rained and thundered, also lost connection with the Web for a while but later the storm passed and guess what? It got sunny again!

I saw many birds looking for seeds and what they found in the clay saucers was soggy seeds but that didn’t stop them from eating. In fact they finished the whole batch and once the saucers were dried I cleaned them and gave them a refill. One thing for sure, they were hungry!

Of course, like a real photographer I shot some birds eating their “soup” :). Here are some samples of them!. Enjoy!

Field Sparrows

The warmer weather temperature is like magic for the birds. They appear from everywhere and are in a frenzy for the goodies at the feeders. One of the bird species that I see in larger numbers are the Field Sparrows.

These little guys are all over going around from one feeder to the next and sometimes they get into “everything go” fight between them. I just enjoy myself looking at those little birds trying to defend their chance to eat some seeds at any cost. Of course there are no injuries at all maybe some sore egos but that’s how far they go.

The Field Sparrows were not many during the last season but now somehow got more numerous, which it’s quite alright with me.

I love it when I see these birds flying in all directions from the feeders to the trees and back, it is busy traffic.

My seed supplier is Sam’s Club and for the first time it has ran out of seeds and they are waiting for deliveries that have been delayed because some roads were snowed out or detoured by the weather hazardous conditions. Sometimes truckers have to wait for roads to be cleaned and being safe.

I’ve gone twice to the store and they are still waiting for deliveries. Besides, people have been buying large quantities as soon as the weather got sunny.
