Last Sunday I visited a nice pond that is part of a large Recreations Park. There I had the opportunity to photograph some ducks and geese. The ducks were mostly Pekin white ducks and there were some Mallard ducks as well.
The water in the pond was the color of mud. Rain water from previous days are being fed from creeks which are carrying mud from the fields. For me it was the first time I see this pond this way, like a pond of chocolate. The sun was brilliant and the sky was blue. The reflection of the sky on the brown pond was quite picturesque. You’ll notice this effect on my pictures I’m posting today.
At the edge of pond I saw some ducks laid on nests and a group of Mallards not interested to go in the water. I think that all ducks are more interested on breeding at the moment.

“Slain Dragon in L.A.”
Short story – Fiction
by H.J. Ruiz
I walk under the old wooden pier, it is dawn. The mighty sun has not awaken yet. Dark shadows criss cross the sinister cavity of elongated pillars. No fear creeps in my resolute mind.
Deep inside my soul I am the Champion of Truth, a true Dragon Slayer! With my invincible sword in my hand I am walking inside the giant rib cage of a slain dragon. The sea water rushes in and out I can hear the deafening roar! It’s the echo of his dying cry! Hear me, demonic creature! I say!…
You are dead now and you have lost your ire and foremost your fire! My honor, my fearless soul and my sword of truth have already defeated you! Now lay there, forever, unscrupulous creature of the underworld!
Let the ocean waves beat your bones for eternity, for you, nor your doomed putrid carcass deserve any mercy! Then, after your bones have turned to simple broken chards… The mighty sun that is rising will soon project his rays and burn you debris to cinders!
Oh shit dude! – I forgot to bring my sun blocker spray!!
Last weekend were two days that we enjoyed very much! The weather was definitely perfect to be outdoors. Both days were sunny, bright and soothing balmy!. Of course it was a tremendous improvement to the low temperatures we had on previous days!
We visited a favorite place that we like very much, it’s one that we usually go for picnics and short hikes, the place is High Falls Park in Georgia. (Look at panoramic picture).
Lucy, Tyler and I had a great time!
NOTE: The following photos are not from the place mentioned above. That was strictly family time!
