After a week with rain and low temperatures, we are enjoying a little bit of sunshine and more acceptable temperatures (40’s-50’s). Despite the unpopular conditions all through the week, my birds were out there to get a chance of getting a decent meal. We had one day when it rained continued from early morning until night , plus strong winds that blew seeds all over even when they were soggy.
Then we had other days with ice in the morning. However, this conditions did not deter them from coming for seeds.
My fig tree is completely devoid of leaves by now. Other trees are have shed about 60% of their leaves.
I witnessed a confrontation between a Mourning Dove v. my deputy Northern Mockingbird in charge of the backyard. This was something that I had never seen before. Luckily I had my camera and could get some shots.
