Lovely birds… I was attacked by one once. Got near its nest, which I knew nothing about until it started carrying on – flapping and shouting – as I was photographing it in a pond. I realised what was up but before I could beat a retreat it took off and flew straight at my head (I ducked in time!). Good (if unexpected) defending tactic against a perceived predator… RH
I’m sorry that it attacked you RH. Of course, you were not aware about the nest being near by. That’s one of the reasons I use long lenses so I don’t have to get too close to any birds, and you can get more usable shots. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
