“Just a mallard” is a phrase I don’t use. I think they’re wonderful. I haven’t been around geese enough to form an opinion, although I hear the domestic version can provide some memorable encounters.
Actually, you and I share the same concept about the mallard ducks. Must be because we have seen them more often and are more familiar to us.
Thank you very much Linda! 🙂
That’s a domestic variant called a “khaki campbell” and I think that the second one is perhaps a swan goose x greylag goose hybrid, another farmyard bird.
Mallards would have to be one of my favourite ducks. I don’t see them often, though, and I’ve never seen a goose with a wattle. I love your cardinal slideshows, the birds always look extra beautiful against dark green.

Love the Mallard’s reflection, and gorgeous capture of the Domestic Goose posing so perfect!
I suspect it might be a…male thing? 🙂 Thanks Donna!
Glad to see your avian friends! 🙂
Now they are your friends too! Thanks Indira. 🙂

These are not exclusive in America, they are all over the world. Thanks John! 🙂
