What’s Up? – Sunshine, Growth and Elation…
Sunshine, Growth & Elation
It has been a glorious week for us because our weather has been the most pleasant we felt in a long time. The plants and trees are growing at a fast rate now. We had a party at home for my son Tyler’s 8th birthday. It was very exciting for him, he had some of his friends come over and played until exhaustion as always. I met the father of two of the kids. They live about two blocks from us. He accepted to stay for a time and I showed him the backyard and he was so delighted about my setups. We sat under an umbrella and sipped some chilled wine. He could not hide his amazement of seeing all kinds of birds going to the feeders. He was enchanted about it. He says he wants to try the same in his backyard… OK!
Tyler was elated by his birthday presents and money he got.
“I heard him say to someone: I’m rich!”
I put some images together for you to share some of the good weather!

Wonderful collection!
Thank you Indira. 🙂
Isn’t it great when a simple visit can turn someone into a birder?
Yes! Even when is not the first one. Thank you! 🙂
I laughed at your “Nutcase” — very amusing, and very true. I’m glad you got to introduce your birds to a new friend, and tell Tyler belated “Happy birthday” for me.
Nutcase is a piece of work, he eats more than a political prisoner! He;s being tolerated by the birds though… Thank you very much Linda! 🙂
🙂 “nutcase”
Yep! 😉
So great that you could share your wonderful habitat and inspire a neighbor to do the same. I don’t drink but maybe I should try a little wine on my neighbors… ! Happy Birthday to Tyler and Happy Spring at Last!
It was a good opportunity to share some conversation with my neighbor outside, the wine was cold and delicious! A happy Spring day! Thank you Lisa! 🙂
Beautiful photos, HJ! Love Tyler’s money comment, I’ve heard that one with my 6 yr grandson, lol. To them, they are! Sounds like Tyler had a super birthday party, and so didn’t HJ and new neighbor. Sounds nice to sit and watch nature while sipping wine. 🙂
You know, all kids are like that! When I was a kid, I’d get mostly cash on my Birthday because it was in the same day of my father’s Birthday. He had many friends that came to celebrate the event but forgot it was mine too. Most would just get money from their pocket and folded it into my hand…and so on. The kicker was that I’d give the money to my Mom to keep for me. Whatever amount it was it grew in value. If I wanted to buy anything I’d ask my Mom…”from my money”…deal that would last ’till the following Birthday!
Thank you Donna for you patience! 😉
First, how cool to be born on one of your parents day! And lucky you as a kid, HJ, getting all that cash. We saw all three grandboys this past weekend, and my husband was dealing out the ‘ones’ for them to put in their pockets, as he always does. I have to tell my kids to make sure they check the boys pants before washing them, so it’s not ‘finders keepers’ when found in the dryer. 😉
It must feel good to have a neighbour appreciate your work with the birds so well. I am glad that the birthday party went well.
Thank you Tom! 🙂
It is always special to introduce other people to the wonder of birdwatching, especially when there is such variety in your garden. Well done HJ!
Yes of course! I feel proud of doing it and enjoy myself talking about birds and amazed how little people knows about them! Thank you Chris! 🙂
You are both rich.
Thank you! I guess we are! 🙂
It sounds like both you, Tyler and the boys’ father had a good time. Lovely pictures too.
Thank you so much Susan! You’re right! 🙂
A very belated Happy Birthday to Tyler! 🙂
Thank you very much Clare! 🙂
My pleasure, HJ! 🙂
