Look Outside my Window!

It’s rare to see a House Finch by itself in my backyard, usually and not too far you can spot the mate or other members of the family. To me, the House finches are the epitome of the formal family and placing second the Carolina Chickadee.

These birds are always keeping their family members close and cautiously organized. I admire their family unity.L-044

This Common Grackle made short visit or pit stop and left again, he was most likely looking for a quick meal and then try to catch up with the rest of the flock, they have been gone about two weeks ago already. It’s good to see him back even if for a short time.L-045

Blue Jays are still coming back often and getting their meals with more ease. They are so L-046good looking, I don’t mind having them in my backyard. They love peanuts with passion! I was having coffee and cake with some relatives at the kitchen table, I sat facing the patio glass door and something looking bluish was moving on the deck railing outside, It came to my mind that would probably be blue jays, when I finally saw through the door blinds that it was a bird but not a blue jay but a Cooper’s Hawk. Then I told my company to look at the hawk outside…my niece runs to the door and lifted the blinds and spooked the gorgeous bird. I just shook my head! (face palm). Then minutes later I saw a Blue Jay as beautiful as ever!

Note: This week bonus is another butterfly, they are more abundant this time of the year. They love my Butterfly Bushes in my front porch. This butterfly is a Black Swallowtail.L-047
