“Slain Dragon in L.A.”

Short story – Fiction

by H.J. Ruiz

I walk under the old wooden pier, it is dawn. The mighty sun has not awaken yet. Dark shadows criss cross the sinister cavity of elongated pillars. No fear creeps in my resolute mind.

Deep inside my soul I am the Champion of Truth, a true Dragon Slayer! With my invincible sword in my hand I am walking inside the giant rib cage of a slain dragon. The sea water rushes in and out I can hear the deafening roar! It’s the echo of his dying cry! Hear me, demonic creature! I say!…

You are dead now and you have lost your ire and foremost your fire! My honor, my fearless soul and my sword of truth have already defeated you! Now lay there, forever, unscrupulous creature of the underworld!

Let the ocean waves beat your bones for eternity, for you, nor your doomed putrid carcass deserve any mercy! Then, after your bones have turned to simple broken chards… The mighty sun that is rising will soon project his rays and burn you debris to cinders!

Oh shit dude! – I forgot to bring my sun blocker spray!!
