A Balmy Breeze
We had a couple of days that mornings started cold and rapidly turned to full sunshine and temperature rose to 57ºF. It felt like summer!
What a difference it makes to have a bright day and warmer temperatures with a balmy breeze!
I haven’t been home much lately, because I’ve been shopping and doing some errants since it has been nice outdoors. I’ve noticed that birds are eating more now, as soon as I fill the feeders they fight to get to be first, two hours later, all the food is gone!
Again I’ve seen a lot of Mourning Doves just sitting next to the clay saucers and eat like no day tomorrow! They take possession of the feeders…that is until a Northern Mockingbird shows up and the banquet ends! (He kicks all the doves out!) Yeah! That’s my boy! 🙂

Looks like a perpetual party! How fun for them! 🙂
While I write this reply it’s raining, also rained all night. It’s miserable for the birds, the rains washes away all seeds. Thanks Jet! 🙂
Glad your weather has improved, ours is very chilly alas. Loved your bird parade.
Now is raining and rained last night! Thanks Susan! 🙂
Happy you’ve had balmy temps lately! Mockingbirds are something else, one recently imitated mama osprey’s call for fish. That sounded quite funny 🙂
They are able to imitate voices of their choice. I suspect that they pass the word when there’s a predator nearby. I like them around! I think that they protect other birds in their designated territory. Thanks Tiny! 🙂
Doves and pigeons are so greedy! Thanks for the post and shots of your visitors.
Thank you Clare! 🙂
Delightful pictures! Thanks for sharing these lovely pics. We had heat wave conditions here and then 100mm of rain yesterday. The birds looked a little bedraggled!
The rain stopped early this morning and the sun is starting to shine again, is still cool and humid. Bird are hungry! Thanks Jane for sharing! 🙂
