I did try to search on the web, but without success. 😉
But while you were searching you learned about other birds didn’t you? The main objective of this quiz is to promote learning about birds while you search.
The answer will be posted TOMORROW, thanks you so much for your participation. 🙂
My pleasure! 😉
Ohh it’s not easy at all cos’ Im not an expert, may I just name these lovely bird as the way I would love to??? 😉
Looks kind of similar to the house sparrows that visit my balcony, but looks different in color and size, so, am waiting for tomorrow! But HJ, please check out one of my bird artworks at http://artpourriartwork.wordpress.com/2014/07/02/garden-of-allurement/. The birds in my artwork look like your bird in the picture, but of course, I made the birds in the artwork from visual reference without researching the species! And yeah, one more thing- I think my artwork is symbolic of your backyard!! 🙂
Is it too late to guess? Without knowing more (size, for example) and where you found it (the South?), I’m going with some sort of pipit or thrush. Can’t be more precise & I may well be wrong! 😉
The idea is to ID the bird by locking at the photo, same as any photographer would see it through the lens. If you know the specie you would ID it right away. I will post another photo next Sunday, give it a new try. Thanks for your participation Lori. 🙂
No prob but surely the photographer would know what state he or she was standing in, right? 😉 When I try to identify a bird I use behavior, location, sounds and size as well as field markings (beak shape, eye stripe or not, breast streaks or not) when trying to narrow it down. Oh, and, of course, a good birders guide! 🙂 So, yeah, I’m really intrigued now. Please let us know what we’re admiring here! 😀 PS, nice photo, too!
Thank you Lori for your comment and reply, I’ll tell you why, This morning, early I published my “Panoramic View of Birds” post that included the answer to the quiz I posted yesterday.Reading your reply I couldn’t understand why you were asking me about something that had been published already. I checked my blog and voila! I discover that somehow what I published this morning had disappeared!! I apologize for the inconvenience. You saved my butt! 🙂
