Long Call

The weather forecast for today Friday calls for 76º F the highest. It’s sunny and bright but it’s only 56º F right now while I write this post at noon.

In the morning I routinely refill the bird feeders early right after my breakfast. I did it as always finished and then got in the house to get my camera ready to do some shooting when I got a phone call from my sister and we talked for a while, I admit that the call was a bit long, we said good bye and I went to get my gear. I could not believe that there were hardly any seeds left in the feeders! Between the Mourning Doves, Red-winged Blackbirds, Brown-headed Cowbirds, Northern Cardinals and the Field Sparrows, American Goldfinch, etc. They all had eaten like pigs while I was talking on the phone. What a shame!

What do you say to that?

Is there a tax exemption for feeding birds? Can I have them as defenders in my tax returns.? NO?…Chucks!

I think I’d be better off feeding let’s say…Chickens? Hmmmm.

  1. Same problem with me most days! I am just picturing to myself all those birds in your yard watching you go off to get your phone call and calling to their friends ‘Quick! While he’s gone lets eat all this food! Bring your friends!’ I think my mother spends more on bird seed and cat food than she does on herself. All the shots are so good I can’t choose between them.

    • Very nice Clare! You squeezed a bit more of humor juice out of the post! I got cats too! But it’s true, pets food is very expensive! 🙂
